Abstract
Background. Having well-being is one of the most important aspects of life, and people who lack this characteristic see their lives as meaningless. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to investigate the role of meaning in life and spiritual intelligence in predicting the mental well-being of students.
Methods. This research is in the framework of descriptive-correlational research and the statistical population consists of students of Shahid Madani University of Azerbaijan, 131 of whom were selected by multi-stage cluster random sampling. In order to collect information in the field of mental well-being, Keyes and Magyarmo's mental well-being questionnaire with a correlation coefficient of 0.78 was used, for the meaning of life, the meaning of life questionnaire was used by Steger et al., and for spiritual intelligence, the spiritual intelligence questionnaire was used with a reliability of 0.89. Results: The results of the simultaneous regression analysis showed that there is a relationship between mental well-being with the meaning of life (0.29) and spiritual intelligence (0.48) (p < 0.01). Also, the meaning of life and spiritual intelligence are in total 43% of It predicts the changes related to mental well-being.
Conclusion. According to the findings, it can be concluded that by increasing the meaning in life and spiritual intelligence in people, the field of improving their mental well-being will be provided to prevent possible psychological problems in the future.
