Abstract

Background. The family, as a fundamental social institution, plays a key role in countering various threats and improving the physical and spiritual health of its members. This article aims to provide a comprehensive view of this aspect of the family from the perspective of the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt.

Methods. Searches were conducted in international databases such as SCOPUS, PUBMED, WOS, and domestic ones like SID and Magiran. Keywords searched included health, family, perspective, value, Quran, Ahl al-Bayt, and Islam in both Persian and English.

Results. After review, a total of 21 articles were extracted covering topics such as the definition of family in the Quran, equal rights of members, childbearing, family structure, the status of the elderly, and the right to care for parents.

Conclusion. The results showed that Islam emphasizes strengthening the foundation of the family, childbearing, generational expansion, and supporting the elderly. Modern science also confirms the benefits of living in extended families, including the strengthening of intergenerational relationships and the prevention of mental illnesses. This study can serve as a guide for raising awareness among the public and policymakers to preserve and strengthen the spiritual foundation of the family in order to improve public health.
