Abstract

Background. The contextual (physical and psychological) influences on how people encounter divine verses in the Quran have always been discussed by psychologists, sociologists, and Quran commentators. The primary objective of this research is to elucidate the extent of these influences in the Quran.

Methods. The research was conducted by examining the structure and interpretation of verses related to the individual and social orientations of people who are recipients of the divine call. Various databases, including ISC, Magiran, Civilica, EndNote, Tefasir al-Mizan, Noor, and Tafsir Ahsan al-Hadith, as well as some related resources, were used.

Results. Behavioral domains are considered inherent abilities in every human being. However, the purpose of creation is to utilize these abilities and voluntarily guide people towards the divine realm. However, the contributions of human personality also play a role in this direction. The Quran speaks of four types of guidance: general guidance, specific initial guidance, general dissection, and the guidance of reward, which is specific to believers. While the Quran was revealed to guide all people, only those with a pious and healthy disposition benefit from its guidance in the form of reward.

Conclusion. Based on the verses of the Quran, whether a person is on the right or wrong path—in other words, guidance or misguidance—is also evaluated based on the individual's physical and personality structure and fabric.
