Abstract

Background. The present study aimed to examine the role of spiritual intelligence in Psychosocial health and the tendency towards high-risk behaviors among female high school students in the second grade in Tabriz. Methods. The research method was descriptive and correlational, with an applied objective. The statistical population included all female high school students in the second grade of District One, Tabriz. A sample of 310 students from Hazrat Masoumeh High School, Imamat High School, and Farhang High School was selected using cluster sampling. The sampling process involved selecting four classes from each school, and then 20 to 25 students were chosen from each class. The research tools included the King Spiritual Intelligence Questionnaire (SISRI), the Keyes Psychosocial health Questionnaire, and the IARS High-risk Behavior Scale. The collected data were analyzed at two levels: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. At the descriptive level, frequency, mean, and standard deviation were calculated, while multiple regression analysis was used for inferential statistics. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 22. Results. All components of spiritual intelligence (critical existential thinking, personal meaning production, transcendental awareness, and conscious state expansion) significantly negatively predicted overall high-risk behaviors (p<0.01). The results indicated that among the components of spiritual intelligence, personal meaning production and transcendental awareness positively and significantly predicted overall Psychosocial health (p<0.01). Conclusion. According to the results, it can be said that the dimensions of spiritual intelligence in general have a negative and significant relationship with the tendency to high-risk behaviors, and the results of the psychosocial health of students can be predicted based on the dimensions of spiritual intelligence.
